I feel bad

Blog friends I know I have been neglecting you. My job is killing me, derby is not going the exact way that I would want. I'm dealing with a gaggle of dogs. All and all things are just getting me a bit down. Plus it is my birthday this weekend and there isn't a single member of my family who has mentioned it. I was telling someone that it is really turning into a Sixteen Candles kind of birthday.

Birthday

I am not really bothered by getting older. I think I was a few months ago but I am over that now. Up until recently things were really going well so I was looking forward to the next year. They are still going pretty well but I need to figure out what to do about my stupid job.

I think that a lot of girls rapidly approaching 30 worry about their ovaries drying up. This is not a concern of mine. I don't really think that being pregnant would be some great thing. In fact, I just confirmed this with a pregnant friend of mine when I very tactfully asked "Does it feel like you have an alien in you?" Although she seemed a bit reluctant to admit it she confirmed my suspicions with a "yes". I really want kids some day but I see myself as more of the adoption type (plus I am determined that the hereditary psychosis end with me). It would probably be fun to have one baby but if I could get a few in the toddler stage that would be best. Ones with out too many childhood traumas behind them because we need to look no further than my own family to see how that shit can fuck a kid up.

Derby

My big derby recruiting push is on right now so if you know any denver area girls that would be interested have them email rmrollergirls@elvis.com for info. Also I would highly recommend picking up a copy of the Texas Rollergirls championship DVD - good stuff. There was a big derby meltdown while I was in New York where the two other primary players got in a fight with each other and both dropped out. So here I am alone, putting shit together while working sixty hours a week. I go back to NY on Tuesday.

I wish I had some funny stories to tell but I am a little too wrapped up in the mundane right now for anything entertaining to happen. I am kind of looking for a new job so if you know anyone that is looking for someone with a strange mix of graphic design, financial analysis and database programming skills, let me know.
